Almond Cracker recipe

Thanks to Elizabeth at Caveman Food for inspiration to make this yummy P3 cracker. I will try it again soon, maybe next batch with stevia and cinnamon.

Ingredients are:

1 cup ground almonds

1 egg white

sea salt

You can grind your own almond meal in a food processor or blender (coffee grinder, if not needing a lot). When grinding your own, in a food processor, watch it carefully so it doesnt turn into almond butter. It’s best to freeze the almonds first (toasted or untoasted) then process them straight from the freezer a few at a time. If pressed for time just use store bought, it will be more expensive but more time economical. 

Ground Almonds can go rancid very quickly, so store in the freezer in a sealed container. Usually the rule is, the higher the fat content in a nut, the colder you keep it.

Flax has three powerful health benefits: the EFA’s your body needs for a healthy heart, a high amount of body-cleansing fiber, and the all-important lignans.

  • Flaxseeds are a great source of so many of the enzymes and nutrients your body needs, including protein, vitamins, phytonutrients, lignans, and fiber.
  • By eating flax, you will help to promote normal cholesterol levels, your digestion should improve, and you should generally feel better.
  • Flaxseeds are 35% oil and 55% of that oil includes the crucial omega fatty acids. Remember, both omega-3 and omega-6 are essential oils that should be included in your diet to promote good heart health.
  • The lignans found in flax are also low-glycemic carbohydrates. Therefore, they slow the absorption of sugar in the intestinal tract, so flax helps to promote normal blood sugar levels as well.

Flax seed contains approximately twice the amount of omega-3 as found in fish oils. Just 1/4 of a cup of flax contains 9,000 mg of omega-3.   Flax seed helps to flush your system of all the built up waste your body has accumulated. Remember to chew these good and drink plenty of liquids.
